About the Intro to Ayurveda & Yoga workshop

In Sanskrit language, the oldest language known to man, the word “Ayu” means life and “Veda” means to know about. “Ayurveda” means “Knowledge of life”. This is the oldest system of healing originated in India over five thousand years ago, transmitted from rishis, or the seers of truth.

You are invited to come and learn about the close inter-relationship of these two ancient healing sciences from India. What are the three doshas, three gunas and how can we apply this wisdom to your personal asana practice? Learn specific yoga asanas to create an internal balance of these five elements that reside within the body mind and soul.

By attending this 2 hour workshop you will:

✔︎ An introduction to Ayurveda,  and understanding the 5 elements and 3 gunas in our body & mind

✔︎ Why are Yoga and Ayurveda called sister sciences? Identifying what Yoga & Ayurveda have in common and why it is important to understand  this connection as Yoga students & teachers

✔︎ How to perform asanas according to your own unique constitution and how to identify if your elements and doshas are out of balance

✔︎ Asanas and Pranayama that balance VPK, including the three most basic asanas that balance Vata Pitta Kapha

✔︎ We will share an Ayurvedic quiz in partners to identify the dosha/ and element increases in your unique constitution

If you have any questions regarding the workshop, please contact us by email or call the studio at (905) 829-3443
