About Hip Opening Clinic
Tight hips are not a condition in themselves, but often a symptom of poor body alignment and lifestyle habits. They can contribute to additional issues such as lower back, knee, ankle, or foot arch pain. On the other end of the spectrum, overly mobile hips can also create problems, including degenerative disc issues and hip joint inflammation.
The muscles of the lower body are naturally strong, yet they often become weak and tight due to underuse and improper movement patterns. Developing hips that are both strong and mobile requires dedicated and mindful practice, and the process is rarely comfortable. However, once you learn how to properly align and activate the hips, you can continue to improve safely on your own.
In this three-part workshop, we will explore: 1) The general structure and function of the hips. 2) The six directions of thigh bone mobility. 3) Pelvic floor health and activation (including Kegel exercises)
How to approach the 3-part workshop (each session: 2hrs)
PART I - Introductory: A general understanding of the hips and foundational awakening of hip mobility and strength. Suitable (with modifications) for participants who may have experienced some form of lower-body injury (knees or lower back).
PART II - Advance: Focus on side horizontal hip opening, integrating both strength and mobility with oblique activation.
PART III - Advance: Focus on front and back hip opening, plus lower-core activation and leg extension.
This 3-Part Workshop has the option to attend individually, or as full series.
IMPORTANT NOTE
Part II and Part III are designed for participants with no injuries or only minor sensitivities. Session recordings will be provided and home practice is required to support progress between sessions. If you have any questions or are unsure whether this workshop is suitable for you, please speak with Eddee in person or email: frontdesk@inyeyoga.com
